Doula services
Support through labor, delivery and beyond
Deidre Alvis Baker, LMT, owner and massage therapist at Gilbert Prenatal Massage, is also a certified labor doula, providing emotional and physical support to mothers during labor and delivery. The consultation is free.
What's included
Prenatal visit
A one-time 60-minute visit at 30 weeks, in the office or at home, to get to know each other, talk about your fears and what you want during and after labor, and go over the phases of labor and what to expect in active labor.
Labor support
12 hours of in-person labor support. At the birthing place, your doula provides emotional, physical, mental and informational support, depending on your needs.
Postpartum visit
A follow-up visit shortly after you return home from the hospital, or after the baby is born at home, to check in and see if you need more support or resources.
Postpartum support
Day shift
Shifts as a newborn care specialist and postpartum doula are at least four hours long, giving time to support your recovery and bonding with your baby.
Night shift
You stay in control of your nighttime routine. Breast, bottle or both: I can bring your baby to you to nurse, then take them back for burping, changing and soothing while you rest, or feed and soothe your baby while you get the sleep you need to heal.
