The people
Adrienne has been a licensed massage therapist since 2004 (NC LMBT #9555). She trained and was first licensed in Western New York, worked in a spa for several years, then linked up with a sports chiropractor and became proficient in sports and deep tissue therapy working with professional sports teams. When she moved to Charlotte in 2010 she saw how active the community was, and in 2011 she and Mike opened Carolina Sports Massage. An athlete herself, she knows the ups and downs of training, keeps learning through classes and research, and looks forward to helping you reach your goals.
Glenn is a Medical Massage Practitioner (LMBT, MMP) specializing in clinical, sports, deep tissue and integrative massage therapy. With a background in healthcare at Atrium Health and prior law enforcement training, he brings a disciplined, client-centered approach to pain relief, injury recovery and mobility, with evidence-informed care that restores function and reduces stress. Away from work he plays piano, swims and practices archery.
Katrina is a graduate of the North Carolina School of Advanced Bodywork and has been a healthcare professional for almost 20 years, mainly in critical care and perianesthesia nursing. Healthcare can feel rushed; she came to clinical massage to truly see, hear and care for the body, and to find what holistic work can do for the pains that burden daily life. She brings her medical knowledge to therapeutic bodywork that supports the whole person, now and into the future.
Mike (Michael on paper) co-founded Carolina Sports Massage with his friend Adrienne Blackwood, to marry his passion for fitness with his work. He graduated from the Southeastern School of Neuromuscular Massage in 2008 and has trained further in sports massage, deep tissue and Thai massage (NC LMBT #8769). He works out hard too, and knows what it's like to be sore all over or to push the body too far. His promise: no cookie-cutter treatment, but a therapist who listens, evaluates and gives a focused treatment every time, whether the goal is freeing up a balky shoulder or staying limber for a marathon.
Stephen has been licensed since 2000 (NC LMBT #14490) and moved to Charlotte from Austin, Texas in 2014 with his wife Heather and their son Vander; their daughter Elora came along soon after. Family matters to him, and that's how he wants clients to feel. Bodywork means good communication, adjustment and adaptation, and to a degree pleasure with pain: he builds a custom treatment plan from deep tissue, sports work and myofascial release to get you back to optimal function and beyond. A former athlete, he has coached soccer for 18 years and coaches for the Charlotte Eagles.
