The people
Alamo worked as a nursing assistant with people whose mobility suffered from stiffness and tightness that massage could have helped prevent, so he went back to school and graduated with honors from Madison College's massage program in 2012. His focus is therapeutic Swedish massage, with clinical myofascial release, stretch-based deep tissue work, cupping and Reiki, and he gives a wonderful relaxation massage too. Listening to the body's cues and asking for your feedback are the keys, he says. He's learning Thai massage from Kay.
Allison has practiced massage professionally since 2018 and Thai massage since 2021. Her style mixes broad flowing strokes, stretches, myofascial release and pressure points, and in Thai massage she walks on backs for some clients. She has particular experience with headaches, rotator cuff rehabilitation and joint hypermobility, and looks at posture, exercise and the demands of your work to understand where your tension comes from, so your time goes where you need it most. She offers Swedish, deep tissue, Thai, Thai foot, prenatal and hot stone massage, Tuina with gua sha, cupping and Thai herbal ball therapy.
Kay's passion for Thai massage began about twenty years ago, receiving it while she lived in Japan. She travelled to Thailand and took three courses at the Wat Po Traditional Medical School in Bangkok, and is certified in Traditional Thai massage, Thai advanced medical massage and Thai foot massage. She ran a Thai massage shop in Japan for two years before moving to America, studied Western massage at MATC in Madison, and taught Thai massage for many years in Madison College's massage therapy program. Today she runs D-CHAI, teaches its 100-hour Thai massage course (NCBTMB Approved Provider #26), and takes a limited number of clients herself.
Kimi has been a massage therapist since 2013, and considers it an honor to help clients reach their goals and make space for their healing. Her specialties are Swedish relaxation, trigger point therapy, Reiki, prenatal massage and aromatherapy, and she's D-CHAI's myofascial lymphatic drainage therapist. She keeps learning new modalities to serve her clients better.
